Solano County
Solano County is a county located in Bay-Delta region of the U.S. state of California, about halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento and is one of the nine San Francisco Bay Area counties. As of 2000 its population was 394,542. Two of the County's seven cities, Benicia and Vallejo, served as the State's Capital in the early 1850's. The County serves seven jurisdictions: Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville and Vallejo in addition to the unincorporated areas. The City of Fairfield is the County Seat. The County has a general law form of government. Its five-member Board of Supervisors (the "Board") is elected by district for four-year terms of office.
